Coach Awards

As well as being coach, welfare officer and committee member for our club Richard Golding is also heavily involved in the Cambridgeshire branch of the ECB Coaches Association.  His current roles are Secretary and Welfare Officer. In the past he organised the ‘Coach in the Community’ programme that saw ex professional cricketers including Derek Randall and Ian Pont deliver coaching sessions for coaches.  These sessions provide valuable information for coaches to take away and use at their clubs. To recognise Richard’s contribution to Cambridgeshire coaches, the county nominated him for the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ category in this years Coach Awards.  We are pleased to report that he won and was treated to a day out at the Oval when England played South Africa.  Winners were presented with their awards on the Oval pitch by England bowling coach Ottis Gibson (who has now left the post to coach South Africa).
